About The Periodic Tutor
I am a certified high school chemistry teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience, specializing in helping students build confidence and succeed in chemistry. Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of learners—from those struggling to keep up to those aiming for top scores in advanced coursework.
I understand that chemistry can feel overwhelming, but with the right support, it becomes manageable—and even enjoyable. My approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, step-by-step understanding so students not only improve their grades, but truly learn the material.
Online Tutoring is Flexible Tutoring
I provide tutoring exclusively online and have logged over 300 hours of successful virtual sessions. This experience allows me to deliver the same level of clarity, structure, and responsiveness as an in-person classroom while offering greater flexibility for students and families.
Students are able to ask questions in real time, work through problems step-by-step, and receive immediate feedback in a focused, one-on-one environment. To provide a seamless and secure experience, I use Wyzant as my primary platform for scheduling, communication, and payment processing. Sessions can also be recorded, allowing students to revisit explanations and reinforce their understanding outside of our time together.
